The Dodge Last Call one-day performance festival scheduled to take place on March 20, 2023, at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is quickly approaching. As it does, the brand is firing up a trail of hints and clues for the reveal of the seventh and final 2023 “Last Call” special-edition model. The brand is launching a weekly series of teasers to stoke already red-hot anticipation for the ultimate Dodge vehicle.
Dodge Final “Last Call” Special-Edition Model: Details
In addition to the teaser we got yesterday, Dodge will drop a new video teaser over four consecutive weeks starting on February 22, leading up to the global debut of the ultimate Dodge muscle car. Though there hasn’t been much information regarding this mysterious seventh entry into the “Last Call” series, Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis shed some light on why the reveal had been delayed, which gave us some indication of what we might expect to be revealed on March 20.

During the Dodge 2022 SEMA Show backgrounder briefing, Kuniskis revealed that the final “Last Call” model is so powerful that the engines would explode during durability testing. The automaker’s protocol requires a new engine to clock dozens of hours running flat out on the dyno before it’s certified for sale. Luckily, the engineers ironed out the wrinkles in the machine, and over the past few months, they have been testing the engine to ensure it won’t be a grenade when customers get their hands on the product.
Kuniskis noted that it would have been easier to get the high-output engine to pass quality testing if it were subject to less stringent standards than 885 hp Direct Connection Stage II kits and crate engines like the 1,000 hp Hellephant are subject to. The latter two are more lax because they don’t need to go through production vehicle duty cycles. This points towards another clue as to what Dodge is aiming for with the grand finale of the LX Platform in terms of output.
In the short teaser video released this week, we see a figure with “red eyes” surrounded by smoke with a mischievous smile, which could hint at the actual name of this new creation. The other clue is the “1Fast29” license plate shown above. Tickets and registration are open if you plan on attending the one-night event.
