The 2023 Supercar racing season is here, and while there’s been significant hype surrounding the S650 Ford Mustangs that will appear on the track this year, they won’t be without their long-time rival as new Chevrolet Camaro Supercars will be meeting them on the race tracks, and a few liveries have already been unveiled.
Chevrolet Camaro Supercar Livery: Details
Starting with the two covered by Supercars Championship, Matt Stone Racing has become the first team to shake down a Gen3 team-built Camaro Supercar. MSR posted a photo and two videos of its new livery, complete with the Truck Assist logo. The team has run under the Truck Assist Racing banner since 2022.
Next, we have Middy’s Electrical pink, which returns in 2023, with Brad Jones Racing revealing the new look for Bryce Fullwood. Fullwood will drive the #14 BJR car in 2023 but will swap a Commodore for a Gen3 Camaro. So a few companies are switching their liveries from Commodore’s this year. The new-look car has Middy’s signature pink and blue tones, with lightning highlighting the silhouette of the new car.
V8 Sleuth provided the intel on the Chevrolet Camaro Red Bull machine set to lap Mount Panorama on Saturday at the Bathurst 12 Hour. A Red Bull-liveried Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro Supercar is understood to be the Supercars-owned prototype rather than one of Triple Eight’s as-yet-unseen race cars for the upcoming season. The prototype has been switched from its regular black Chevrolet hues to a generic Red Bull ‘testing’ livery for the demo laps. Red Bull Ampol Racing’s full-season livery isn’t expected to be revealed until closer to the Newcastle season opener.
Finally, Erebus unveiled the Cocal-Cola livery Chevrolet Camaro Supercar. Exclusively revealed by Motorsport.com last year, the General Motors squad landed primary backing from Coca-Cola Europacific Partners for the upcoming campaign. The squad will run under the Coca-Cola Racing by Erebus banner.
With both the S650 Ford Mustang Supercars and Chevrolet Camaro Supercars slated to race this season, we’re going to see a racing season that may be memorable. The first event of the Gen3 era is the Thrifty Newcastle 500 on March 10-12.
