SHELBY AMERICAN UNVEILS ITS FIRST ELECTRIC VEHICLE EVER

This year would have been Carroll Shelby’s 100th birthday; in celebration, Shelby American has unveiled the next chapter of its legendary performance with the new Ford Mustang Mach-E GT 4X. Just 100 of these carbon fiber integrated electric cars will be produced for 2023 to celebrate Shelby’s birthday, all of which will be created for Europe due to the massive (regulatory) EV market.

2023 Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT: Details

The Shelby American Ford Mustang Mach-E GT 4X features a lowered profile, carbon fiber hood, front splitter, mirror caps, and side splitter, which reduces weight. Around the wheels, the Shelby added slightly wider fenders to help with aerodynamics when sending the car down the pavement. The entire vehicle is finished in a beautiful white body with electric blue stripes along the hood and side panels.

Adding to the appeal of the Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT 4X, the company decided to integrate the Borla Active Performance Sound System, which mirrors speed, power, RPM, torque, and load with zero latency. The system combines a proprietary algorithm with state-of-the-art audio processing and amplification technology. Using real-time data from the EV’s computer, the system generates a hyper-realistic ICE soundtrack from the GT500 that perfectly matches the EV motor status and other vehicle dynamics. However, it’s not as exciting as the Dodge Banshee, but it is still better than the electric whistle.

Shelby American has also improved the handling of the Mustang Mach-E, though it’s not something that would be noticeable at low speeds while cruising or commuting around town. But once the driver gets more aggressive, the car is prepared to handle that with hardened handling aspects that make the car feel smoother when opening it up down a track.

Each 2023 Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT includes paid membership in Team Shelby, the worldwide club Carroll Shelby established in 2008, and will be eligible for documentation in the official Shelby Registry. The package MSRP starts at €24,900, not including the base vehicle. Customers who purchase the car can see them arrive as early as July. Additionally, the complete lineup for Europe will be unveiled later today. Fans interested in buying a Mach-E or any other vehicles arriving across the pond can do so through the Shelby.eu website.
