2024 FORD F-150 PROTOTYPES SPOTTED OUT WEST

The Ford F-150 is the number 1 truck in the country; there’s a massive fanbase around the vehicles, so it’s a big deal when one is spotted with camouflage. However, when two are spotted beside one another, something is up—a prototype for the F-150 Raptor and a prototype for a standard F-150.

2024 Ford F-150 Prototype: Details

TFL was recently testing a Ford Bronco Sport high in the mountains of Colorado when they spotted these two prototypes on a road shoulder, likely taking in the snowy view of the mountains surrounding the pass. Since Colorado is the only state where the altitude doesn’t drop below 3,000 feet, it’s the perfect place to test how vehicles perform when oxygen levels are low. Of course, the further up people drive, the more challenging it is for cars to retain their performance numbers. As for the Ford F-150 prototypes that were spotted, the taillights appear to have a unique shape reminiscent of the Lightning.

That doesn’t necessarily mean Ford is building an electrified F-150 Raptor, but the two will share a similar taillight shape. Additionally, Ford heavily camouflaged the tailgate of the standard F-150 seen in the photos, which begs the question, why? The tailgate is likely different from what we’ve seen in the past, perhaps multi-functional. We’ve discussed what we can expect from the 2024 Ford F-150 lineup, including Ford’s answer to Chevy’s Multi-Flex tailgate and Ram’s Multifunction tailgate. Patent drawings from the company have alluded to a three-door system for the flagship vehicle, unlike anything we’ve seen before.

According to the drawings, the three-door system will still allow for the ability to drop your tailgate per usual but also allow for seemingly quicker, closer, and easier access to your truck bed. The “man step” is still integrated, but a second step is also situated on the load sill behind the gate for added support. This patented tailgate may be reaching the 2024 F-150, and the covering on this prototype appears to support this.

There’s a lot more speculation surrounding these two camouflaged 2024 Ford F-150s found in the video below; if you’re planning on getting one, definitely check it out because there’s a lot to get excited about, even if it’s just speculation.
