Customers are beginning to receive their 2023 Chrysler 300C orders, which signals the end of a legendary chapter for the Detroit automaker. Back in 1955, the Chrysler C-300 was the first mass-produced 300-horsepower car. We’re sad to see the legend leave, though the Pacifica will continue in its current form for a couple more years as Chrysler works to pivot toward an all-electric lineup by 2028. So what will be replacing the icon?
Chrysler 300 Replacement: Details
At its recent dealer meeting in Las Vegas, Stellantis presented a preview of its upcoming products to its dealers in a secure, electronics-free environment. Among the products that were showcased was a new electric sedan from Chrysler. According to Mopar Insiders, the upcoming Chrysler electric sedan resembles the images teased during the Stellantis EV Day presentation from 2021. The presentation featured silhouettes of a sleek, fastback coupe-like sedan with Chrysler logos on the wheels. Huh!
Attendees of the dealer meeting have reported that the upcoming Chrysler electric sedan shares a similar size and hatchback design as the forthcoming Charger Daytona BEV. While specifics are limited, those present stated that the sedan had a layout similar to the new Charger. In January 2022, Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell revealed that the automaker would be introducing a new, completely redesigned vehicle to replace the 300. Though it’s unclear if this new sedan is the successor to the 300, Chrysler has plans to continue offering a full-size sedan in its lineup to compete with rivals on the market.
If we see this new electric Chrysler sedan come to market as a replacement for the 300, it would indicate that the Dodge Charger will again have a Chrysler counterpart. In addition, it’s believed that Chrysler will eventually be releasing the Airflow Concept, a five-passenger crossover built on the new STLA Large platform. Though the company hasn’t released any official information regarding upcoming products, we can expect the Airflow to join the Chrysler lineup in late 2024 as a 2025 model. Once it releases, it will directly compete with the Chevrolet Blazer EV and Ford Mustang Mach-E.
