2024 GMC SIERRA HD AT4X AEV EDITION IS AS CAPABLE AS IT IS PREMIUM

A few weeks ago, the world bared witness to the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD ZR2 Bison. The first ever. The spec sheet is riddled with just about all of the fixings. But, say you’re not into the vibe of the Chevy. Say you wanted something just a touch more upscale. Well, aren’t you in luck? Say hello to the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition. A truck that aims to haul, pull, and carry into the wilderness just about all of your possessions, and do so with a set of massaging front seats.

2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition: Details

The available AT4X AEV Edition adds robust stamped steel bumpers with integrated recovery points and front winch capability, which provide additional driver confidence and protection. It also features heavy-duty steel skid plates that help keep vital components such as the steering gear and transfer case protected on the trail. Additional features include unique 18-inch Salta wheels, exterior branding, and interior cues.

As seen with the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV, the performance-driven approach and dedication to detail that elevates the off-road aspects of the truck can be found in the heavy-duty truck. With the addition of the turbocharged 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine that has been enhanced for 2024, this vehicle will be a beast off-road with 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque, offering more power across the entire operating speed range. The standard 6.6L gas engine is still available if you don’t want the Duramax. Both engines are paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission designed to optimize engine power, torque and efficiency.

A new feature that can be found on the GMC Sierra HD AT4X as well as the AEV Edition is Off-Road Mode. When engaged, the Off-Road Mode adjusts various vehicle calibrations, such as the anti-lock brakes, traction control, and stability control, to provide optimized performance when venturing off-road. Additionally, Off-Road Mode alters throttle progression and transmission shifts to allow for better off-road control and performance.

Pricing for the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition isn’t yet available, though those numbers will be announced closer to when production starts at the General Motors Flint, Michigan Assembly plant. However, that shouldn’t be too far off, as these trucks are expected to arrive at dealerships in the fall of 2023.
