THE RAM RAMPAGE SMALL TRUCK HAS ONCE AGAIN BEEN SPOTTED IN THE U.S.

Ram has a new vehicle in the works called the Rampage, and it’s looking to compete with the Ford Maverick and other unibody small trucks in South America. There’s no indication that the truck will be making its way to North America, but it still needs to undergo testing here; after all, it was co-developed by Ram North America. That said, a new video uploaded on Twitter showcases the upcoming Ram Rampage wearing some heavy camouflage atop a car carrier in Michigan.

Like the Dodge Rampage of the past, this new Ram Rampage is a unibody small truck, though instead of just slapping the Ram badge on the truck, it has received some changes to the design to make it appear more like the Ram 1500 full-sized truck sold in North America.

The Rampage spotted in the amateur Twitter video features a similar profile to other small Ram trucks sold in other markets, including Mexico and South America, such as the Ram 700 or Ram 1000. The window lines are similar, as is the sports bar that flows into the roof rails. Despite these similarities, it’s clear there’s more to the design of this truck than we can see. Otherwise, it would feature lighter coverings. Reports have also pointed to the return of the Ram 1200 nameplate, but we now know this to be the Rampage.

2024 Ram Rampage: What To Expect

Ram Brazil recently published a video that shows what appears to be a 2024 Ram Rampage compact pickup prototype spending some time in some serious off-road environments. The features of the truck spotted in the Twitter video match that of the truck in the recent teaser, so it’s safe to say they’re both test mules of the same vehicle. Based on that, we can get a decent idea of what South America can expect with this new truck.

The video mentioned that the truck would be powered by a Hurricane turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. The engine is available with different configurations that can alter the output, one of which could be 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, which would be enough to give the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz some serious competition.
