Cauliflower and broccoli gratin

Ingredients for 4 people:

500 g cauliflower
500 g broccoli
salt
1 thick slice of cooked ham (approx. 150 g)
300 ml milk
3 eggs (M)
125 g heavy cream cheese with herbs
pepper from the mill
fat for the baking pan
40 g grated cheese (e.g. Emmental)

Preparation:

1. Clean cauliflower and broccoli, wash and divide into florets. Separate blanch in salted water for 6-8 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water. Drain well.

2. Cut ham into cubes. Mix milk, with eggs and cream cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Place cauliflower, broccoli and ham cubes in a greased baking dish. Pour egg-milk over it. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in preheated oven at 175-200 degrees (convection oven: 160-180 degrees/gas mark 2-3) for about 30 minutes.

Extra crunchy bite

Add a few pumpkin seeds or chopped almonds to the vegetables before you pour the egg milk over them. Children, however, don't like this as much. If you still do not want to do without it, pumpkin seeds and almonds in a little oil and serve separately with the gratin.
