2024 FORD MUSTANG DARK HORSE VIN 001 SELLS FOR $375K

There’s always something extraordinary about purchasing the very first production version of a car. If it is something as legendary as the Mustang, it’s even more special. Especially if the proceeds for the sale are donated to a Charitable cause; that’s precisely what has happened with the first ever produced 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse.

2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse VIN 001 Sells For Big Bucks

Ford Motor Company auctioned off a 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse VIN 001 fastback to benefit charity at the 2024 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction. With striking good looks, an advanced suspension system, and 500 horsepower (the most power we’ve seen from a 5.0L Coyote V8-engined Mustang), there’s very little not to like about the car. The Dark Horse sold at Barrett Jackson featured Recaro seats, painted hood and accent stripes, and both Handling and Appearance packages. As for the color, the VIN 001 car features the Dark Horse exclusive Blue Ember Metallic paint. A lot can be said about this color; it features unique pigments of deep blues infused with a warm amber hue, giving the exterior paint a dramatic color shift in different lights and angles.

To develop Blue Ember, the Ford Color Mastering team intermixed complementary colors opposite each other on the color wheel. Unique effect pigments were used in higher volumes than other paints to enhance the color by reflecting light, creating a striking amber highlight that looks different throughout the day. The sale, which ended up being $375,000, benefited the JDRF charity. JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research, so this donation should help make enormous strides for this cause.

The Ford Mustang Dark Horse is designed with performance in mind and replaces the epic GT350 and Mach 1 Mustangs. With a transmission oil cooler, engine oil cooler, rear axle cooler, and improved engine cooling, it’s safe to say this thing is pretty… cool. The 2024 Dark Horse boasts unique chassis tuning and heavy-duty front springs while stopping power comes from Brembo 6-piston front brakes with 14-inch rotors. Handling is enhanced with MagneRide suspension, K-brace, Torsen rear differential, and standard Pirelli Trofeo RS tires.
