Srinagar:
The Power Development Department (PDD) has witnessed the second fatality of its employees within a week due to electrocution incidents.
On Saturday in Kewal village of Rajouri, a PDD daily wage worker, Mushtaq Ahmad, aged 30 and hailing from Dramman Kochjja, tragically lost his life. Reports indicate that Mushtaq Ahmad was critically injured while repairing a live wire on Saturday afternoon. Despite being swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Earlier this week, another unfortunate event unfolded in the Parimpora area of Srinagar, where a PDD inspector, identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad from Chattabal, met a similar fate. Imtiyaz Ahmad was electrocuted during repair work, as confirmed by officials. Despite immediate efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the SMHS hospital.
