N.J. coach accused of sexually assaulting children is facing more charges

Prosecutors have filed additional charges against a strength and speed coach accused of a sexually assaulting children.

Donald Kumar Davis, 33, of Nutley, was arrested on Sunday and served with the new charges — two counts of aggravated criminal sexual contact and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Davis was first charged in the repeated sexual assault of a child on Dec. 19, 2023. Investigators have since alleged that he had a second victim, resulting in the new charges.

The investigation into Davis started on Dec. 13, 2023, when someone called authorities and reported that a child had been sexually assaulted in Bergen County.

Detectives arrested him six days later, accusing him of assaulting the child twice in Washington Township and once in Wycoff. He was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual contact and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Davis also has a pending criminal case involving a motor vehicle crash in Lodi in 2019 that left two people dead. He was charged with two counts of death by auto and the motor vehicle offense of reckless driving in the crash, according to court records.

After his arrest on Sunday, Davis was taken to Bergen County Jail where he will remain pending a court appearance. Attorney information was not immediately available.
