5 players unavailable, Anthony Musaba returns: Predicted Sheffield Wednesday XI v Leeds - opinion

Sheffield Wednesday welcome Leeds United to Hillsborough on Friday.

Sheffield Wednesday play Leeds United under the Hillsborough lights in what should be a really entertaining Championship clash.

The Owls remain in 23rd place of the table despite four-straight wins, though Danny Rohl‘s side could lift themselves as high as 16th with a win tonight.

Leeds though have the chance to move up into 2nd with a win tonight, and they come into this one in good form having won 10 of their last 11 in the league.

The last time these two teams met was back in September; Wednesday under Xisco Munoz shocked everyone and earned a point in a 0-0 draw.

Latest Sheffield Wednesday team news

Sheffield Wednesday are carrying a few knocks right now, but thankfully, skipper Barry Bannan is fit to start tonight after suffering a head injury against Plymouth Argyle in midweek.

Rohl revealed ahead of the Leeds game that Josh Windass is expected to return after the international break, with Kristian Pedersen also on the same timeframe.

The Owls remain without Juan Delgado and Callum Paterson, and will tonight be without Ian Poveda who is on loan from Leeds.

How will Danny Rohl line up vs Leeds United?

Sheffield Wednesday have been really dominant in their last two outings, although two 1-0 scorelines wouldn’t suggest so.

So expect Rohl to be eager to field exactly the same XI as he did against Plymouth in midweek with no new injury concerns.

Plymouth caused Sheffield Wednesday some problems on Tuesday, especially in the second half with Plymouth looking to hit the Owls on the break with pace down both flanks and in the middle.

And Leeds may look to do what Plymouth did in the first half in particular, and press the Owls high up the pitch.

Wednesday coped with that threat well and so expect Rohl to retain a five-at-the-back, with Will Vaulks and Bannan pulling the strings in the middle.

Anthony Musaba could be pushing for a return to the XI having started on the bench vs Plymouth, and he could be a straight-swap for Poveda on the right.

Other than that necessary change, expect and unchanged line up.
