‘Wake up!’ – Spain’s Defense Minister implores Spaniards to take Russian missile strike seriously

Spaniards need to “wake up” to comprehend the danger that Russia poses to nearby nations and the world community at large, she said.

"I want to address Spanish society with a call to wake up, because sometimes I have the impression that we do not fully grasp the enormous danger that currently exists," the minister said.

She described the threat from Russia as "total and absolute," citing recent statements by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin regarding nuclear war.

"Europe must realize that the danger is not merely hypothetical – but real and perilously close. Countries bordering Russia are acutely aware of this threat, those further south may fail to perceive it," Robles said.

Putin stated on March 13 that Russia is technically prepared for nuclear war.

The U.S. began serious preparations at the end of 2022 for the potential of Russia launching a nuclear strike on Ukraine, CNN analyst Jim Sciutto said on March 9 after speaking with two high-ranking officials in U.S. President Joe Biden's administration.

Following CNN's report, The New York Times revealed that in October 2022, officials in Biden's administration were seriously concerned about the possibility of Russia using nuclear weapons on the battlefield in Ukraine.
