Newcastle fans are now braced for more fixture turmoil after what happened on Sunday

Newcastle United fans have dealt with plenty of fixture chaos this season, and they should now be braced for even more.

The Magpies were knocked out of the FA Cup on Saturday night, meaning they must now focus all of their attention on the Premier League and saving their season – in the words of Bruno Guimaraes.

Eddie Howe’s side have got 10 games left, one of which is away to Manchester United. Newcastle have already won once at Old Trafford this season, beating them 3-0 in the Carabao Cup.

That was a special night, and Toon fans will be looking forward to creating more memories at the expense of Erik Ten Hag’s side. However, it is now unclear when Newcastle will be travelling to the North West.

Manchester United vs Newcastle United will be rearranged after FA Cup drama

That is because Manchester United vs Newcastle United is now set to be rearranged. It had been pencilled in for the weekend of April 20th, but will now be moved.

This is because Man United will be competing in the FA Cup semi finals that weekend, having beaten Liverpool in dramatic fashion on Sunday afternoon. It was an incredible game at Old Trafford, and one that Man United won 4-3 with almost the last kick of the game in extra time.

It means the Red Devils are off to Wembley, while Newcastle will have a free weekend towards the end of next month.

The Premier League contest will need to be rearranged, with Toon fans now bracing themselves for another midweek trip to the opposite side of the country.

Now, that can’t be helped. However, the Premier League can and must do all that they can to make it a seamless trip for Newcastle fans. It simply must not be an 8pm kickoff, while it needs to be announced as far in advance as possible to give supporters enough time to make travel arrangements.

But the Toon Army will not hold their breath, considering the amount of times they have been an afterthought this season.

Another Newcastle fixture is also set to rescheduled – the Magpies’ trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace. That was meant to be played on Saturday, but was postponed due to Newcastle’s involvement in the FA Cup.
