‘My understanding’: Kaveh Solhekol explains when Everton will learn the outcome of 2nd PSR hearing

Everton fans have been left furious with the manner in which the Premier League have conducted themselves throughout this PSR-laden season.

Having first come down on them with full fury, it almost feels like now Nottingham Forest have gotten away with one in comparison.

In reality, both sides should unite to combat this tyranny, which is punishing ambition and keeping those at the top at the top.

Kaveh Solhekol, Sky Sports’ resident journalist, has now sought to offer new details on Everton’s second potential deduction. The misery is unrelenting!

What Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol said about Everton’s 2nd PSR hearing

With Forest’s case having been overseen now, although an appeal could still come, the Premier League and their independent commission can now move on to the Toffees second case.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the reporter has sought to offer an update to Evertonians as to when they can expect the next wave of PSR despair to come.

He notes: ‘There will now be a new three-person panel who will hear Everton’s second charge. The Premier League never give any information about when these hearings are. That is totally confidential.

‘But my understanding is that the Nottingham Forest case was going to be dealt with first and then we are going to have the second Everton case dealt with.

’It’s very likely that the Everton hearing is going be this week or next week and we should know the decision from that independent panel in the next two or three weeks.’

The Premier League’s Everton assault continues

Whilst there has been no inkling as to whether this second charge will end up with another deduction, the negativity that this season has bred will unsurprisingly have fans expecting the worst.

After all, it is what they have become accustomed to, with the Premier League having first concluded that 12 points was a suitable sanction before eventually seeing ten administered, later reduced to six.

It feels like this organisation will stop at nothing to grind down this historic institution, unbothered by their historical standing and the many mitigating factors they have put forward.

However, once this new hearing is settled, that should be the end of it.

After all, for three years now Everton have been cutting costs and offloading their key assets for huge money. Kevin Thelwell has sliced the wage budget dramatically, and made huge steps towards sustainability at last.

Should they avoid the drop again, for a third season on the run, then perhaps Sean Dyche can look ahead to a brighter, more stable future at Goodison Park and then the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.
