Mo Elneny is out of contract in June, as is Jorginho – though the latter does have the option for another year in his deal. Arsenal then, need additions in the middle of the park to complement Declan Rice.
Arsenal among favourites to sign Juve’s Adrien Rabiot on a free
The Frenchman was one of the best midfielders at the World Cup in Qatar. Still only 28, it feels like he has been around for a lot longer. A player with 441 club appearances, and 42 caps for his country.
He is out of contract in the summer and a report from Tutto Juve claims he is set to leave the Italians on a free. They also share the identity of the clubs that are pushing to sign the left-footed France player.
They claim that from England, Arsenal and Newcastle are the ‘most-interested’ clubs in the race to sign Rabiot. There is interest from other clubs around Europe, too. But Arsenal and Newcastle want him.
Most importantly, Rabiot is keen on a move to the Premier League and is open to joining Arsenal or The Toon. Given Arsenal will have Champions League football, you’d imagine he would prefer The Gunners.

Of course, Arsenal have had plenty of success with French players in the past – and managers. Rabiot could be the next on that long list of Arsenal’s France stars, following in the foot steps of Patrick Vieira.
Indeed, Arsenal legend Vieira is actually a big fan of Rabiot – with whom he shares plenty of likeness. Both tall central midfield players, able to go past players, technically gifted, willing to put a tackle in.
Speaking in 2017 about Rabiot to RMC Sport, Vieira said: “Rabiot is becoming one of the best players in this position. He knows how to play ball, go forward. It helps attackers to receive good balls,” he said.
Previous reports state that Tottenham want to land Rabiot on a free, but given Arsenal’s title credentials and their lack of options in central midfield – you would imagine Rabiot might prefer to choose Arsenal.
