Sheffield Wednesday fans all saying the same thing after latest Josh Windass update

Sheffield Wednesday fans are all saying the same thing after a fresh injury update on Josh Windass emerged.

Josh Windass has spent a large chunk of his career at Sheffield Wednesday being a fan favourite, being named in the League One Team of the Season, as well as scoring the last gasp winner in the play-offs ten months ago.

The attacking midfielder was expected to take up a pivotal role in the Owls’ first campaign back in the Championship, however he has since only managed to start 16 of their 38 games due to various injuries.

Windass missed three consecutive games in September/October after aggravating a dead leg, before missing out on a trip to Bristol City a month later, before he was suspended against Leicester shortly after.

The 30-year-old then spent another couple of weeks on the sidelines over the Christmas period with another minor problem, before returning to the side and netting three goals in the next six matches in all competitions.

However, his injuries didn’t stop there, with Windass now spending the last seven weeks on the treatment table.

The midfielder was expected to be closing in on a return, but manager Danny Rohl has now confirmed he has taken ‘one step back’ and is unlikely to make his comeback until next month.

Windass’ injury problems have left supporters frustrated, and with his contract set to expire this summer, many of them are thinking the same thing…
