'Big teams': £25m player Unai Emery called 'amazing' suggests Arsenal move could tempt him

One Premier League player who Unai Emery is a huge fan of seemingly could now be tempted by a move to Arsenal in the future.

Mikel Arteta and his team will surely be focused on the title race and their exploits in Europe right now, however, they will also be putting plans in place to improve their squad.

The summer marks another key opportunity for Arteta and Edu Gaspar to mastermind signings akin to Declan Rice and Kai Havertz.

Perhaps this international break is the perfect time to have those chats, and things could be accelerating right now.

That being said, there’s a few different profiles that Arsenal would immediately benefit from.

A goal-scoring striker to start with, and also better competition or back up for William Saliba and Bukayo Saka in their respective positions.

And perhaps the player in question could prove a suitable candidate to dovetail with Saka.

Although he’s focused on his progress with Aston Villa right now, Leon Bailey has admitted that a move to a club like Arsenal could be too hard to resist in the future.

Speaking on the ‘Let’s Be Honest’ podcast, Bailey was initially asked if he would ever consider joining a team like Chelsea.

And the £25m-winger admitted that a move to one of the league’s biggest teams could be tempting whilst naming Arsenal.

He explained: “You have big teams in England, they call themselves the big six. The Arsenals and the Chelseas. It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League and I am right now.

“Who wouldn’t want to go to a massive team? Especially coming out of Jamaica, do you know how big that is for the country? Especially being who I am as well.

“It would shine more light and that has been my focus whenever overseas.

“It is to use my platform to be able to shine light on the country and the young talents. It’s difficult for us Jamaicans to even make it to Europe.

“I don’t know how to answer that question, but I’d have to see in the moment.”

Would Leon Bailey be a good signing for Arsenal?

At 26-years-old, it does still seem like there’s a lot more to come from Bailey.

That’s not to say he’s not delivering right now, Unai Emery wouldn’t be hailing him as ‘amazing’ otherwise, but there’s still an inconsistent element to his game.

A move to Arsenal would surely cost the north London club a lot of money, and right now the signing probably would represent sufficient value.

However, should Bailey manage to continue his excellent showings on a consistent basis, there’s no reason to think he couldn’t play for a top, top club one day, with the greatest respect to Aston Villa.

All that being said, Arsenal are thought to be leading the race for a different attacker right now.
