Sudbury two-car crash in A131 Melford Road sees man and woman hospitalised with injuries

A man was airlifted to hospital after suffering potentially life-changing injuries in a serious two-car crash.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the A143 Melford Road, Sudbury, between the junctions with Abbey Road and Woodhall Road at about 3.20pm yesterday.

The crash involved a white Hyundai i40 and a blue Kia Venga and both drivers, a man and a woman, suffered injuries.

The woman was taken to West Suffolk Hospital where she remains for treatment.

Her injuries are not being treated as life-threatening or life-changing.

The man was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by air ambulance with potentially life-changing injuries – however, he has since been discharged.

Suffolk Police are looking for witnesses to the incident and are asking motorists driving in the area at the time to review any dashcam footage.
