Tottenham will head into the summer with an eye on new players and ensuring their current best ones stay around.
The first season under Ange Postecoglou has been a positive one in the main. Despite some poor games at times, the free-flowing attacking football has pleased supporters.
Of course, with Harry Kane leaving in the summer, a number of Tottenham players have needed to step up to the plate to fill the void.
One of those to really make that step has been current skipper, Heung-Min Son. The South Korean has been integral, scoring 14 Premier League goals already.
And after enduring a disappointing Asian Cup with South Korea recently, Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has told GiveMeSport that Tottenham are having ongoing talks over a new deal for Son.

Speaking about Son and his importance to Spurs as a club, Bridge has confirmed that the club are desperate to get a new deal sorted.
“Yeah, still ongoing. This is a player who, let’s face it, is just brilliant on the field, but a brilliant ambassador and obviously globally, so key to the football club. He’s been a great club captain since taking over from Harry Kane. He’s come back from the Asian Cup. He was very personally disappointed with the way it was done. I don’t think he had the best relationship in the world with Jurgen Klinsmann. Maybe that’s taken him a little bit of time to come back,” Bridge said.
Son deserves everything he gets
Heung-Min Son has always been a superstar for Tottenham ever since he signed for £22m back in 2015.
But since Harry Kane left in the summer, he has really taken his game and role within the team to another level.
With that, Tottenham should be giving Son what he wants to stay put. He’ll already be one of the top earners so the wages shouldn’t be too big of an issue, unless, of course, someone else comes in with a mega offer from afar.
Son is vital to Spurs and with little signs of him wanting out, there’s more to come.
