Nottingham Forest star now limps out of international clash after 40 minutes, Nuno needs him fit

When it comes to injuries at Nottingham Forest, whenever it rains it is always torrential. Now, another star player has seemingly picked up an injury on international duty.

Forest have a dozen players currently away on international duty. It would seem as though some are having more success than others and one appears to have collected an injury.

It’s always considered a proud moment when clubs have their players go out on international duty. However, from a Forest perspective, it’s a case of praying that everyone returns safe and well devoid of injury problems.

Forest have a number of players on international duty and many of those are important to the team’s fortunes. One of those is now injured it would seem following yesterday.

Willy Boly limps off for Ivory Coast

Well, it would seem as though the worst nightmares have become a reality. Boly returned for Forest in the 1-1 draw against Luton and yesterday he limped off as the Ivory Coast drew with Benin in a friendly.

The 33-year-old started the game as the African Nations Cup winners played on home soil. After just 40 minutes, he was on his way back down the tunnel and now Forest must wait for the prognosis.

Boly signed for Forest from Wolves in the summer of 2022. He was a £2 million signing and when he’s been fit, he’s been considered one of the team’s better defenders.

Who Scored showcases that Boly has won more headers than any Forest player this season. He’s also made the second most amount of clearances and blocks behind Murillo.

Forest will now wait patiently for Boly news

In our view, if Forest have anything about them, the club will demand that Boly returns to the City Ground to be assessed. Forest play Crystal Palace on Saturday and can ill afford any more casualties.

The centre-back has been a key defender when called upon. He’s the type of player who simply likes to head the ball and Kelvin Wilson has raved about Boly for his efforts at Forest.

It’s been claimed this past week that Boly is going to be handed a new contract by Forest. However, his injury record must be a cause for concern for the people behind the scenes at the club.

The injury situation is pretty alarming at Forest. That has been the case since the club won promotion to the Premier League and it’s something else for Forest to take a look at it in the summer.
