Endrick and Ezri Konsa clip goes viral after Aston Villa star's debut yesterday

Ezri Konsa did Aston Villa proud on his England debut on Saturday against Brazil.

It’s a shame it resulted in defeat, with Brazil, who are struggling in their World Cup qualifying group, securing a 1-0 friendly win at Wembley.

The man of the moment for the South American giants was 17-year-old Endrick, who will join Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.

The teenager had been on the pitch for a small while, but in next to no time, he was wheeling away in celebration to steal the headlines and score the winner for his nation.

But footage has emerged on social media since of the soon-to-be Real Madrid star failing to get the better of Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa.

Just in general, the former Charlton academy product did a solid defensive job, including stopping the attacking threat of, Vinicius Jr.

But Endrick himself tried to trick his way past Aston Villa’s versatile star, only to be stopped in his traps.

Dancing one way and then the other, it seemed as though the Palmeiras superstar was going to pull a trick out of the Ronaldinho playbook.

But there is a reason why Ezri Konsa is one of the best one-v-one defenders in Europe.

Opposite nights for Ezri Konsa and Ollie Watkins

Whilst Konsa can reflect on a positive night’s work, the same can’t be said for Ollie Watkins.

Look, this wasn’t his fault, far from it, but when players like Phil Foden are having zero touches in the opposition box, then you know there are problems.

Not with the individual players, but with the manager and how he has set them up.

You just simply can’t criticise Watkins for that display because there was nothing for him to shout about.

It’s not like he was missing chance after chance, if anything, he only got one opportunity in the first half and that was it!
