Report: Juventus now decide they don't want to sell ‘special’ player who Newcastle want to sign

Newcastle United have been dealt another blow in their summer hopes as Juventus are hoping to keep one of their young stars who has been linked with a move away.

Newcastle are hoping to add to their defensive ranks now more than ever after the news broke last week that Sven Botman would be missing for the next six to nine months with an ACL injury.

A new report from Tutto Juve claims that Juventus are not considering any offers for one of their teenage talents amid links with a number of teams including Newcastle.

Juventus youngster set to stay in Italy

Dean Huijsen has been enjoying some impressive performances over in Serie A, though it has not been with his parent team who loaned him out to Roma in January.

The centre-back has very recently made his debut for Spain’s Under-21s after a bright few months in Rome where he’s played 13 times in and helped them to make a big push for Champions League football.

Newcastle have been tracking the Juventus youngster for a while now and just last week it was being reported that the Old Lady would consider selling him for the right price.

However, it looks like that is now very unlikely with the ‘special‘ young talent potentially being given a pathway to the first-team with the Serie A giants next season, much to Newcastle’s disappointment.

Newcastle to look elsewhere for new defender

The news on Botman has suddenly forced Newcastle to alter their summer plans with the club seemingly having no luck when it comes to long-term injuries this season, and now they must prepare to be without another star.

Although it looked like a new right-winger, left-back or striker may be Eddie Howe’s biggest priority, Newcastle now must find a new centre-back to provide cover for the Dutchman while he is out.

The Geordies have been linked with some very exciting names like Ousmane Diomande from Sporting Lisbon, though anyone who they look to bring is going to cost a hefty fee if first-team quality.

Whether they look for a new star to eventually replace Fabian Schar alongside Botman or bring in someone for depth like Lloyd Kelly on a free remains to be seen.
