Newcastle now offered the chance to sign ‘brilliant’ £50m player this summer

Newcastle United have now been offered the chance to sign a defender who has been on their radar for the last couple of years.

Newcastle suffered yet another huge injury blow with the news that Sven Botman would be ruled out for possibly the next nine months with an ACL injury.

That has accelerated their efforts to bring in a new defender this summer which was already the plan, and HITC are claiming that there is one European club who could be willing to help them solve their problem.

Juventus offer Newcastle the chance to make £50m move

It’s not yet clear how much Newcastle will have to spend in the summer given their financial restrictions, but if they are to spend big it’s likely that a large portion of that will be on a new centre-back.

Botman will be back around halfway through the season, of course, but Newcastle were already planning on finding a long-term replacement for Fabian Schar, the injury has simply made that more of a priority.

It’s very likely that there are some new names mentioned in the next few weeks as the Magpies ramp up their efforts to solve the huge problem for next season, but one name which has sprung back into conversations is Juventus’ Gleison Bremer.

Bremer only just renewed his contract with the Italian club in December but could already be looking for a move away with Liverpool and Tottenham also keeping a close eye on the ‘brilliant‘ defender who could cost £50m.

The 27-year-old defender is looking for a new challenge having spent the last six seasons in Serie A, and there is no better place to test himself than the Premier League.

Bremer would be an experienced defender option for Newcastle

Newcastle have been pretty underwhelming from a defensive point of view this season having conceded more goals than Everton who are at serious risk of being relegated to the Championship.

A big part of the has been the injuries which has left the defence very disjointed, but Newcastle were already looking to upgrade their back four this summer anyway.

Bremer has competed at the very highest level with Juventus and Torino having made 16 appearances across both the Europa League and Champions League and would bring some key experience to Eddie Howe’s side.

There is still a chance that Newcastle could qualify for Europe for next season and they will definitely need as much help as they can get if injuries are to continue at the current rate.

Juventus are competing for a much higher position this season after finishing seventh last year and Bremer has played a huge role in that push back towards the top of the table.
