Tottenham Hotspur may have been handed a boost in their attempts to land Ange Postecoglou’s ‘dream’ summer signing.
Spurs have built an exciting young side over the past couple of years and Ange Postecoglou has already displayed a keen eye for talent.
Last summer, Tottenham snapped up the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven and James Maddison, with all three players making an instant impact in their debut seasons at the club.
The latest arrival at Spurs was Radu Dragusin as Postecoglou landed that much-needed centre-back in January. But the Aussie boss is still searching for reinforcements in the middle of the park.
Conor Gallagher is one name to be heavily linked with a switch across London and sources claim that Chelsea are actively trying to sell the midfielder.
Chelsea trying to sell Tottenham target Gallagher
According to The Daily Mail, sources at Premier League clubs have claimed that Chelsea are actively attempting to offload Gallagher this summer.
This is due to the fact that the Englishman will have 12 months left on his deal at the end of the season. Chelsea would also bank ‘pure profit’ by selling their academy product.
Gallagher is Postecoglou’s ‘dream’ signing at Tottenham
Spurs have been long-linked with a move for Gallagher and were tipped to test Chelsea’s resolve in January.
That move didn’t materialise but it has already been reported that Postecoglou views the Chelsea star as his ‘dream’ signing ahead of the summer.
Gallagher has impressed for Chelsea this season and has even worn the captain’s armband in Reece James and Ben Chilwell’s absence.
His latest display for England against Brazil wasn’t his best but he’s been a standout performer under former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino this term.
Given his importance to this current Chelsea side, it is a surprise that the Blues are actively trying to offload their academy star.
