Report: Sources close to ‘amazing’ manager think Chelsea wouldn’t actually want him at Stamford Bridge

Reports have claimed that people close to one manager believe that Chelsea chiefs would not actually want him to take over as their next boss.

According to London World, the currently out of work Jose Mourinho has a belief that those currently at Stamford Bridge would not want him to make a second return to the club where he really made his name in world football.

Mourinho has been without a club since earlier this season, when he was sacked by Roma and relieved of his duties taking over a side where Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku was in form.

Pochettino under pressure

There have been reports that he is keen back into he game, with a number of top jobs looking as if they are going to come up at the end of this season.

It remains to be seen if this is the case at Stamford Bridge, with pressure still high on Mauricio Pochettino at the helm as he looks to save his job.

It looks as if qualification for European football is going to be an absolute minimum as far as the owners are concerned, with it already being reported that they have done due diligence on a number of potential candidates.

People close to Mourinho don’t think Chelsea want him

One name who is constantly mentioned is Mourinho, with his history in West London well documented over the years.

However, it has now been claimed that sources close to the Portuguese boss believe the club would not be keen on him coming back.

It remains to be seen whether the Blues would actually consider what would be an extraordinary return for Mourinho, who has recently been praised by none other than Pochettino himself.

The Argentine described him as ‘amazing’ recently, although will be focused solely on performances on the pitch that will keep him in his job for the foreseeable future.
