Liverpool will eventually have to make a move for a player to replace superstar winger, Mo Salah.
Over the last few windows, Liverpool have been linked with countless players as speculation continues about Salah’s future.
With the summer rolling around very soon, the spotlight will be on Salah again. The Saudi Pro League are expected to make another play at getting the Reds star to the Middle East.
Liverpool, of course, will have a new manager in place as well. And with that, new players are bound to be on the agenda.
Whether or not there is a need to replace Salah this summer, remains to be seen.
But according to Italian journalist Fabio Santini, Liverpool have already put an offer down for one of Italy’s best attacking players.
Liverpool make offer for £52m-rated forward
According to Santini, speaking to TV Play, Liverpool have made an offer for long-time target, Federico Chiesa.
The journalist claims that the Reds have put an offer in and that Juventus could be tempted to sell.
“What does Juventus do? Chiesa could sell and not Vlahovic as is being said. There are offers on Chiesa from the big names in the Premier League, especially Liverpool. By selling Chiesa they take home about 40-45 million, with that figure Juventus can go knocking on Retegui’s door who should not be seen here as a duplicate of Vlahovic, but if anything as his shoulder. Here too, Juventus will have to do the math of the servant, as they say in Milan,” Santini said.
Federico Chiesa would flourish at Liverpool
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Liverpool linked with a move for Chiesa. Back in the summer, they were reportedly chasing his signature.
Tottenham are another club thought to be keen on the Italian star.
Santini mentions a fee of around £40m here but previous reports have suggested a fee of around £52m would be more likely.
Chiesa, of course, would be a player Liverpool fans would take to immediately. He plays in with a high energy that most English fans saw in the Euros back in 2021.
Lauded as a ‘superstar‘ by some in the Italian media, Chiesa is approaching the 50 cap mark for Italy at just 26. Indeed, he’s also been compared to Luis Suarez, which is quite the compliment in Liverpool eyes.
While he’s only scored the seven goals this season, a change can sometimes work miracles and as part of the new Liverpool set up, the Italian could well flourish.
