Report: 19-year-old yet to make Tottenham debut has been really impressing many at Hotspur Way

Many within Tottenham Hotspur have been really impressed by one 19-year-old yet to make his first-team debut for the club.

It has unquestionably been an incredibly promising season for Spurs. It is easy to forget now how much of a mess Tottenham appeared to be in when Ange Postecoglou‘s appointment was confirmed in the summer.

Postecoglou’s first year in North London has been turbulent at times. Spurs have had to deal with a raft of injuries. And that saw their title credentials pushed beyond their limit after the first few months of the season.

But Postecoglou’s tenure has been extremely encouraging. And what is exciting for Tottenham fans is how much faith he has put in younger players.

The likes of Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie, Pape Matar Sarr, Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson have all been important players this season. And Radu Dragusin became the latest player under the age of 24 to join the club in January.

So the pathway is there for their best youngsters. And the next crop appear to be knocking on the door.

19-year-old awaiting debut has impressed many at Tottenham

The likes of Ashley Phillips, Alfie Dorrington, Alfie Devine, Jamie Donley, Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear all look to have extremely bright futures ahead.

And according to a report from Football London, 19-year-old goalkeeper Luca Gunter has impressed many within the club.

Of course, it would be a surprise if Gunter featured anytime soon. Guglielmo Vicario has been an inspired signing since the summer. Meanwhile, Fraser Forster has proved to be a smart addition as an understudy. Gunter meanwhile, is still establishing himself at under-21 level.

Loan move may be the next step

But Forster is not going to be around forever. He turned 36 this month. So there may be a place for someone to push themselves onto the bench in the next couple of years.

Gunter may perhaps be one to keep an eye on this summer. Perhaps he could follow in the footsteps of Phillips and Devine and go out on loan.

Those players currently away from the club look to have benefitted from their loan spells this season. And Tottenham will make sure that they do all they can to keep Gunter on the right path.
