What Radu Dragusin is doing behind the scenes at Tottenham to impress Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin is doing his utmost to impress behind the scenes.

The Romanian joined the north London club back in the January transfer window and has found opportunities few and far between.

However, Ange Postecoglou has had to call on the 22-year-old following the latest injury to Micky van de Ven.

What Radu Dragusin is doing at Hotspur Way

After making the move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Radu Dragusin has played 139 minutes of Premier League action.

He was given his first start in the last outing against Fulham, but it was 90 minutes to forget as the Cottagers put Spurs to the sword.

There has been a lot made of Dragusin’s lack of game time from those in his home country with the move even being described as arrogant by some.

However, his agent – who has spoken out a lot – has revealed his client is putting in a lot of work at Hotspur Way as he hopes to impress the manager.

He said: “He hasn’t gone out at all in London, to go out clubbing or anywhere. I don’t even know he’s gone out to eat twice. He doesn’t go out. We went out twice to a restaurant. He leaves at 9am, and comes back at 3-3.30pm, because he puts in an extra two hours of gym every day and an hour on the pitch.

“It’s not exactly easy. It’s like having a job. He grafts and grafts. There’s also this pressure, he’s thinking about the national team, the Euros. He really wants to succeed. I think we can already say that he is one step in the winning boat.”

What Dragusin’s agent said about joining Real Madrid

The agent has been no stranger to sharing his opinions since the 22-year-old made the move to north London.

And despite only joining in the January window, he has already made comments on where his client should be playing in the future.

Dragusin has not had it easy since landing in London with the likes of Van de Ven and Cristian Romero providing him some stern competition for places in the starting XI.

Although he has only managed to rack up one start in the Premier League, his agent has suggested the defender will be playing for Real Madrid one day.

But he has not backed down from those comments, he said: “The statement I made was done on a Digi broadcast six years ago. I said he would play in Italy, Tottenham and Real Madrid, and in the euphoria of the moment, I repeated it. They can criticise me, the important things is that Radu is good. I don’t have to be loved.”

Regardless of what could lie ahead for Dragusin in the future, it is positive to hear the defender is going above and beyond to impress.

This is the standard that Spurs should now be expecting as they aim to be playing Champions League football next term.

Strength in depth is exactly what will be needed and what Dragusin is doing will certainly be pushing the other defenders to up their game both on and off the pitch.
