Report: West Ham key man could be switched to new position that he's never played in before

One West Ham United player could be set to be deployed in a completely new position it seems.

West Ham currently have numerous players away on international duty, and we’re all keeping our fingers crossed that they return to the London Stadium fully fit and on top form.

Hammers boss David Moyes faces some hugely important games over the next few weeks, starting with a trip away to Newcastle United on Saturday.

Before that though, the majority of our players currently away with their respective nations still face one more international game.

West Ham star Jarrod Bowen may get a run out for England against Belgium tonight. The 27-year-old has been in fabulous form for the Hammers this season.

He has been deployed as a central striker and in his natural right wing position. However, it seems as though Gareth Southgate may have a new role in mind for him tonight…

Key West Ham player could be switched to new position

Hammers ace Bowen might be given a big chance to impress for England at Wembley Stadium tonight.

However, the 27-year-old now could seemingly be utilised in a brand new position for the Three Lions.

According to a report from the Telegraph, Southgate could use Bowen out on the left wing – a position he has never played in before.

That just seems utterly bizarre to me. Why would Southgate watch Jarrod play so well all season long for us up front and out on the right but then switch him out to the left?

It’s like the Hammers star is having to work with one hand tied behind his back.

If Gareth Southgate does utilise the West Ham player in a completely new position, it will highlight just how clueless the England manager is as far as I’m concerned. We all know how dangerous the former Hull City star is out on the right, and I just have a feeling that he’ll struggle on the left wing.
