Report: When Eddie Howe expects to have most his Newcastle squad back in training ahead of facing West Ham

The international break is almost over, with Newcastle United fans starting to turn their attention towards Saturday’s game against West Ham United.

It really is a must-win game for Newcastle United, who have 10 matches left to save their season. The Magpies still have aspirations of qualifying for Europe, and they will be massively enhanced with a win against West Ham United at St James’ Park on Saturday.

In preparation for this game, Eddie Howe has been in Dubai with his players. They have been undergoing a warm weather training camp, as they look to finish a difficult Premier League season strongly.

However, it was not the busiest of training camps for Newcastle. That is because a lot of first-team players have been away on international duty representing their countries. We have seen Anthony Gordon make his England debut, while Bruno Guimaraes dazzled at Wembley. Elsewhere, Alexander Isak and Emil Krafth‘s commitments with Sweden are over after Monday night’s friendly win against Albania.

They will now be returning to Tyneside, and a new report states when Howe will have the majority of his squad back at the training ground as he continues to prepare for the clash with the Hammers.

Newcastle United stars will be back in training by Thursday

According to the Chronicle, Eddie Howe will have the majority of his Newcastle United squad back in training by Thursday ahead of Saturday’s game.

That is good news for Howe, as it should mean he is able to put on a couple of training sessions with the majority of his squad.

Major names like Gordon and Bruno will be back very soon. The former could feature for England against Belgium tonight, while the latter is in Madrid to take on Spain with Brazil. Interestingly, Bruno could play at the home of Real Madrid, who are being linked with signing the 26-year-old this summer.

After this evening, Newcastle United’s international commitments will be over, and everyone will hopefully return in full health as the Magpies aim to end the campaign on a high.
