'Ready to leave': One of Todd Boehly's first signings already wants Chelsea exit - journalist

Chelsea could already be set to sell one signing made under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership.

Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took over Chelsea in 2022 and have seen their regime bring in a host of players.

The above includes the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Christopher Nkunku, who all cost big money.

There have been lower profile signings as well, such as Cesare Casadei.

The midfielder joined Chelsea from Inter Milan in 2022, but it looks like he could be off already.

Cesare Casadei’s Chelsea future in doubt

Right now, Casadei is part of Chelsea’s first team. He started the season on loan at Leicester City but was recalled in January.

It has been reported that the Blues were not happy with the amount of minutes that the 21-year-old was getting at the King Power Stadium.

However, since returning to Chelsea, Casadei has barely played and it now looks like he is considering an exit this summer.

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has claimed on X that Casadei is ready to depart Stamford Bridge in the next transfer window and that clubs from Serie A have already shown an interest in him.

The Italian has played less than 20 minutes in the Premier League this season.

Why does Cesare Casadei want to leave Chelsea?

Again, Casadei is not playing at present and you cannot see a clear passage into Mauricio Pochettino‘s starting XI for him.

Given how much they cost, Fernandez and Caicedo are never going to be dropped.

As long as Conor Gallagher remains at Chelsea and when Romeo Lavia returns to injury, that will stop Casadei from getting minutes as well.

Chelsea could have actually signed Casadei for just £154,000 instead of £17m years ago, according to one of the club’s former scouts.

It will now be interesting to see how much money they get for him if he does leave west London.
