Report: 'Amazing' 24-year-old Wolves target in talks over new deal, he's his club's lowest earner

Reported Wolves target Mile Svilar has reportedly now opened talks over a contract extension with AS Roma.

It was reported recently that Wanderers had sent scouts to go and watch the Serbia international in the Europa League.

Apparently, Wolves scouts saw him in the two Roma games against Brighton.

Svilar has recently ousted Rui Patricio as the number one at the Italian club, and has earned praise for his performance between the sticks.

His displays have caught the attention of Wolves, but the club may struggle to land the 24-year-old this summer…

It has been reported by TMW that Svilar is now in talks with Roma over a new contract at the club.

It is stated that former Wolves number one Patricio is no longer a starter for Roma, and he will be moved on this summer.

Roma are actually said to be eyeing a move for a new goalkeeper this summer, but Svilar is someone they want to keep and potentially he could be their number one next season.

The club have now commenced talks over a new contract for him following his recent rise.

At the moment, Svilar has a contract with Roma until the summer of 2027, but he is stated to be the lowest earner in the first-team right now. He is said to take home around £21,000 per week gross, which works out at £11,500 per week net.

New contract for Svilar would scupper Wolves’ hopes of a deal

So it looks as though Roma are very keen to get Svilar signed up to a sweeter contract following his recent rise and displacement of Patricio.

Clearly, they don’t want to lose him this summer.

If they successfully negotiated a new contract for him, then it could make it difficult for Wolves – whose number one Jose Sa has been linked with an exit – to snap him up if they did have intentions of making an approach.

Svilar, described as ‘amazing’ in the past by Jose Mourinho, would surely not want to change clubs just months after agreeing fresh terms.
