'Signed all documents': Fabrizio Romano says Man City are now on the verge of signing 15-year-old wonderkid

It has been reported that Manchester City look set to sign yet another young sensation.

Last week, it was claimed that the City Football Group (CFG) had a “concrete and serious interest” in signing 20-year-old winger Luciano Rodriguez.

Similarly, it was also revealed less than two weeks ago that City were close to sealing a deal for 14-year-old midfielder Cavan Sullivan.

Fabrizio Romano: Manchester City closing in on deal to sign Jayden Lienou

Now, Fabrizio Romano has disclosed on X that Manchester City have “signed all documents” to sign Jayden Lienou from Everton.

Romano confirmed that the Welshman was set to brought in as an addition to the Sky Blues’ academy.

The Italian journalist also went on to claim that the interest in the 15-year-old from the treble-winners is a part of their strategy to sign the best young prospects.

Interestingly, it has also been stated that Manchester City have beaten two other top English teams to close in on securing the services of Jayden Lienou.

Jayden Lienou could solve the club’s left-back problem in the future

After a move for Jayden Lienou to Manchester City is confirmed and he goes on to make a name for himself at academy level, he could solve the club’s left-back problem in the future.

That is if City fail to recruit a top left-back by the time the teenager is deemed ready for first-team football.

Even so, the Sky Blues have always struggled to address the left-back position, with perhaps only Joao Cancelo being their only bona fide world-class player in the position, who has been loaned out to Barcelona.

If Jayden Lienou impresses for Manchester City’s academy, perhaps a spot in the senior side could open up for him at left-back in the near future.

As things stand, it seems like yet another smart piece of business from City to sign another promising youngster.
