6 potential McDonald’s X Krispy Kreme products we need following shock announcement

Our brains have been kicked into overdrive following the news that McDonald’s would be partnering with Krispy Kreme from 2026.

Though the deal is currently only for doughnuts, which Krispy Kreme will deliver to the fast food joint every day, you can’t help but wonder about the range of other creations the partnership could birth.

The announcement was made earlier this week

On Tuesday, Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s issued a joint statement that outlined the partnership plans going forward. The chosen starting flavors are Krispy Kreme’s traditional glazed doughnut, chocolate iced with sprinkles, and the chocolate iced kreme. They are available individually or in boxes of six.

“The Golden Arches and Krispy Kreme, one of the most beloved sweet treat brands in the world, are teaming up for a national expansion,” they said. “Fans will begin spotting Krispy Kreme doughnuts in their local McDonald’s restaurants later this year as part of a phased market rollout across the country.”

Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth added: “Partnering with McDonald’s on a national scale will provide our fans and doughnut lovers unprecedented daily access to fresh doughnuts and the joy that is Krispy Kreme.”

Doughnut burger

The burgers are arguably the shining golden child of the golden arches, so it makes logical sense they could combine them with a Krispy Kreme doughnut. Just picture it, a juicy beef patty sandwiched between a glazed doughnut.

Unhealthy? For sure. But still yummy.

The concept is not completely unheard of either and is often referred to as a Luther Burger. In 2016, Burger King even launched their own version called SufganiKing.

Doughnut McFlurry

McFlurry’s have contained just about every flavor under the sun including favorites like Lion, Oreo, Creme Egg, Flake, and Cookie Crumble. It’s about time there was a Krispy Kreme flavor!

It makes sense practically too as cutting up doughnuts to put on vanilla ice cream is hardly Michelin-level cooking.

Though chicken nuggets are a beloved national favorite for a reason, they could still be improved with some fried dough and powdered sugar. The flavor combinations are practically limitless, as is the idea of a sharing box.

McDonald’s will have some competition though from brand leaders like The Donug.

Doughnut shake

Much like the McFlurry, a doughnut milkshake would be an easy win for the fast-food giant. That is if the machine is even working!

Just picture doughnuts in the same shape as the McDonad’s french fries. It sounds pretty good, right?

Now we can take it one step further by offering either powdered sugar or salt to make the fries sweet or salty, respectively. For the truly crazy customers, why not have both salt and powdered sugar?

Sweet dips

To go with your scrumptious doughnut fries, you’re going to need a range of sauces to dip them in. The best part is that McDonald’s already has a range of sauces on offer, all of which would be perfect to dip your fries in.
