‘Absolutely not’: Journalist has been told Liverpool won’t sell £49m player, even if Mo Salah stays

Liverpool are heading into a real period of uncertainty this summer.

Jurgen Klopp is about to leave Anfield, and there’s a real wind of change sweeping through Merseyside.

Not only is Klopp leaving, a number of the Reds’ key players’ futures are in doubt as the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah continue to be linked with a move away from the club.

Another player who has been linked with a move away from Anfield recently is Luis Diaz.

The Colombian is said to be a target for PSG, but speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, Dean Jones has stated that the £49m winger isn’t likely to leave this summer.

Luis Diaz will stay at Liverpool

Jones shared what he knows about the winger.

“What surprised me about Luis Diaz is that there has been speculation about him leaving Liverpool. I can’t see it in a month of Sundays, I spoke to someone about that story, and they were like ‘no, no, If Mo Salah stays that doesn’t mean Luis Diaz is going anywhere, absolutely not.”

Luis Diaz shouldn’t leave

Liverpool are absolutely right to take the stance that Luis Diaz is not for sale.

The Colombian is one of the Reds’ best players, and it really does feel as though he’s just hitting his stride at Anfield.

Diaz, of course, had an incredible first six months on Merseyside, but after a few injuries last season, his form dipped.

However, now, it feels like we’re once again seeing the best of the winger, and it would be downright silly for the Reds to even contemplate the idea of selling Diaz at this point after such a fantastic season.

Luckily, it sounds as though the Reds have no plans to sell Diaz and he will be a part of the long-term plan post-Jurgen Klopp.
