Nottingham Forest player linked with £50m summer transfer has just signed with new agent

Nottingham Forest star Murillo is going to be a wanted man during the summer transfer window. Now, he’s done something which might suggest he’s preparing to turn his back on the City Ground.

Forest have used the South American market pretty well in recent times. Murillo and Danilo have both made an impact, with Forest now also looking at Brazil goalkeeper Bento ahead of the summer.

The left-sided defender signed for the club for around £11 million in the summer transfer window and came as an unknown quantity. Murillo was courted by Manchester City before he opted to join Forest.

He had to wait a few weeks to make his debut for the Reds. However, since Steve Cooper handed him a shock start against Brentford in October, the 21-year-old has been ever-present in the Premier League.

Murillo has been praised during the campaign with Jamie Redknapp impressed after Forest drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace in October. Cooper was also a huge fan of the defender.

On the back of Forest getting four points deducted for breaching financial fair play, it’s claimed that a star player might leave. With the next cycle going to be tight for Forest too, Murillo has been linked with a £50 million exit.

Now, the player has taken some steps away from the football pitch to get his future sorted. Given what has been posted on Instagram in the last 24 hours, it might not be good news for Forest.

Murillo signs with new agency as clubs monitor Forest star

Well, this is pretty commonplace in football today but it would seem Murillo has now signed with a new agency. A post from his new representatives was made on Instagram last night and they could be tasked with getting him a new club.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with Murillo. They aren’t alone in the race though, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City all thought to like the Forest man.

According toInstagram, Murillo is now represented by Forward Team. It’s not entirely clear who else they represent but looking at their social media account, it’s clear they specialise in South American footballers.

Now, given the speculation over Murillo potentially leaving Forest, they could be in for a big summer with their latest client.

Forest may have to sell prized asset this summer

It’s a sad indictment of how modern-day football works but if Forest do end up selling Murillo they should make a huge amount of profit on what they got him for.

With financial fair play still going to hang over Forest next season, selling one prized asset might be necessary. Murillo does feel quite replaceable and it will be up to the club to invest the money wisely.

Morgan Gibbs-White has also been linked with a move from Forest. He would be harder to replace and furthermore, it’d probably be harder to convince the club’s interested to fork out the £50 million Forest would likely demand.

It would be sad to see Murillo sold by Forest. However, with the financial fair play parameters as they are, clubs the size of the Reds will always be forced into selling their players year after year.

The challenge is replacing him adequately. Forest have been pretty haphazard in the transfer market and hopefully, another Murillo-shaped gem can be unearthed if he does get sold this summer.
