Fabrizio Romano has ‘the best news possible’ for Tottenham fans about Heung-Min Son

Tottenham Hotspur fans will love what Fabrizio Romano has had to say about Heung-min Son.

The Lilywhites return to action on the weekend with a game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Luton Town.

Ange Postecoglou will be looking to the likes of Heung-min Son to get their top four chase back on track.

But the South Korean’s long-term future still hangs in the balance with just one year remaining on his current contract.

What Fabrizio Romano has said about Heung-min Son

Going into the summer, talks will be expected to be well underway to secure the Spurs captain’s future in north London.

It is already believed that Spurs are stepping up their efforts to get Son signed to a new deal.

But it seems there are unlikely to be any issues in getting Son to commit his future to Tottenham after what Romano has now said.

Speaking to Chris Cowlin, the transfer insider has revealed the relationship between Son and the club could not be better. He said: “He’s super happy to see what’s going on at Tottenham. So I think this is the best new for the club. Son can see this club is going in the right direction with the right manager. Good connection between the manager and the board.

“So I think this is probably the best news possible because Son can see the project, how it’s evolving. So I think the contract is not going to be a problem, also because the relationship between is agents and the club is obviously excellent.”

When does Heung-min Son return from international duty

Much like many of the Spurs players, Son has been away on international duty following the dismal defeat away to Fulham.

The South Korean captain was involved in two World Cup Qualifiers over the course of the last week.

Having drawn the first – where he scored – South Korea cruised to victory in the second game on Tuesday against Thailand.

Once again, Son was able to find the back of the net with a stunning solo effort in that game earlier this week.

However, he did not hang around for long following the game on Tuesday as he provided fans with an update on Wednesday.

Taking to his social media, he said: “I have safely returned to England after completing the call for the national team.”

“The season is not long left but I will do my best to make the fans happy and I can play football happily.”

And how Spurs will need him at his absolute best if they are to finish in the top four.

There are still concerns over Richarlison’s fitness having not featured for Brazil over their two friendly games.

So Postecoglou will likely be looking for his captain to continue his stunning Premier League form which has him just four goals off being the top scorer.
