‘He will be available’… Ange Postecoglou says 22-year-old will return from injury for Luton clash

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has provided an injury round-up ahead of their game on Saturday.

The Lilywhites return to Premier League football with a game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Luton Town.

And it seems Ange Postecoglou’s side are coming out of the latest international break completely unscathed.

One additional player has now returned to the fold following the two week break from their previous outing against Fulham.

Micky van de Ven injury news

Micky van de Ven did not feature in the dismal defeat at Craven Cottage having sustained another hamstring injury against Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old has already suffered from a long-term hamstring issue earlier in the campaign which kept him out for months.

But it seems this latest problem was not significant enough to force him to miss more than the single game against Fulham.

Speaking from Hotspur Way on Friday, Postecoglou has revealed the Dutchman will be available for selection tomorrow.

He said: “In terms of injuries. Micky has trained. he’s trained the last couple of days. He feels good so he will be available.

“Everyone (else) got through the internationals okay, which was important for us. Everyone came back and trained full today (Friday).”

Will Radu Dragusin start vs Luton

The 22-year-old’s influence on this Spurs side has been nothing short of exceptional this season.

Postecoglou has already hailed him as “outstanding” for the effortless transition he has made since joining the Premier League.

However, Spurs royalty has now weighed in on the 22-year-old centre-back having hailed him as up their with Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk.

Hoddle said: “He and Virgil van Dijk, they are the best two in the country. Funnily enough, they’re both Dutch, so he’s a find he is. If we get a few more like that in different positions and a couple of wide-men, then we aren’t far off it.”

With Van de Ven fit, what will be interesting to see is whether Radu Dragusin will keep his spot in the starting XI.

The Romanian is said to be working incredibly hard behind the scenes to impress Postecoglou by doing extra gym work.

A busy run of games could also provide Dragusin with the opportunity to continue from the start with Van de Ven potentially being kept fresh for the game against West Ham on Tuesday.

Either way, with Dragusin available, there does not feel any real rush to bring Van de Ven back straight away.
