2 teens injured in shooting near N.J. restaurant

Two Atlantic County teenagers were shot during a dispute near a restaurant in Galloway Township on Sunday, authorities said.

The shooting arose from a dispute between groups gathered near the Hoon King Chinese Restaurant in the 200 block of Collins Road, police said Monday. Both teenagers, ages 16 and 17, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were being treated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City.

Both are Pleasantville residents, police said.

The shooting spurred from a confrontation between two groups, police said. Police did not release details on the exchange that led to the shooting.

Township police were informed by Atlantic City law enforcement that the teenagers were taken to the city’s hospitals after being shot. Galloway police then discovered and performed forensic exams on the scene.

Police did not say if both teenagers shot at one another or were the targets of another shooter. The case continues to be investigated.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact township police at 609-652-3705 or Atlantic County Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234. Anonymous texts can be sent to 274637(CRIMES).
