West Ham take on bitter rivals Spurs in the Premier League at the London Stadium on Tuesday night and our director’s had a dig.
There’s no love lost between West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur.
Both the Hammers and Spurs have plenty to play for at the London Stadium with European places up for grabs.
Tottenham are looking to secure a place in the Champions League while West Ham are chasing European qualification for a fourth consecutive season.

Nearly 18 years since infamous lasagne-gate
Believe it or not May 7th will mark 18 years since the infamous incident when Tottenham visited West Ham on the final day of the season looking to clinch the final Champions League spot.
West Ham were preparing to play in the FA Cup final when Tottenham travelled to Upton Park back in 2006.
Spurs only needed to match Arsenal’s result against Wigan in order to clinch the final Champions League spot at their rivals’ expense.
It was a tantalising possibility, but disaster struck for Tottenham from an unlikely sauce.
Tottenham’s pre-match meal caused an outbreak of vomiting and nausea among the players at their Canary Wharf hotel on the eve of the game.
A strong West Ham performance coupled with the impact of the dodgy lasagne saw Martin Jol’s Tottenham side succumb to a costly 2-1 defeat the next day which saw them miss out on the Champions League.
West Ham were having an excellent season – as they proved when they more than played their part put on one of the most memorable FA Cup finals in history a week later.
Incident massively overblown from Tottenham’s end
So the win, at home, against a side that only finished a few places above them in the table was not the big shock many involved in that Spurs team have made it out to be since.
Nobody more so than Jermaine Jenas.
The TNT Sports pundit has been speaking to West Ham’s Mark Noble ahead of the latest meeting of West Ham and Tottenham.
Noble’s brilliant Spurs put down
Jenas has been hamming up the incident yet again and making out as if that Spurs team were in the same bracket as Man United’s treble winners or Arsenal’s invincibles.
But West Ham director Noble delivered a brilliant Spurs put down as the old news was dragged up ahead of the big clash.
And it’s worth suffering Jenas’ cringeworthy recollection of events just to see Noble destroy him with just three words.
As Jenas rabbits on about West Ham putting in ‘the performance of the century’ against his mighty fifth-placed Spurs – who won a mammoth TWO more games than the Hammers that season – Noble simply responds: “What a shame.”
