Sky Sports man calls Moyes a 'dinosaur' and tips Spurs to smash West Ham

A Sky Sports man has labelled David Moyes a ‘dinosaur’ and believes Spurs will smash West Ham in the Premier League tonight.

David Moyes goes into West Ham’s big clash with Tottenham Hotspur under pressure once more.

It comes after the manager’s tactical disaster-class in West Ham’s 4-3 defeat to Newcastle at the weekend.

Last year West Ham were linked with Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou as a growing section of fans called for a change in style and approach.

Postecoglou has certainly brought just that to Champions League chasing Spurs.

Moyes remained with the Hammers after leading the club to a first major trophy in over four decades.

Discontent among some fans over Moyes’ approach

While Tottenham fans are loving Postecoglou’s swashbuckling attacking style, some sections of the West Ham fanbase remain divided over Moyes’ future.

Despite the manager’s achievements at the club, many supporters are in very contrasting camps when it comes to the Scot.

While some fans believe Moyes deserves a new long-term deal, others are craving a more progressive, expansive style and approach.

Those who want change point to Moyes’ tactics at Newcastle as proof that it is needed.

The Hammers boss brought Michail Antonio off for Kalvin Phillips on 70 minutes with his side 3-1 up and on course for a crucial win in the fight for the European places.

That directly resulted in West Ham meekly surrendering the lead to lose in the last 15 minutes.

Journalist brands Moyes a ‘dinosaur’ and predicts Spurs thumping

Football journalist Lewis Jones analyses all the Premier League fixtures for Sky Sports and makes predictions too.

Jones is impressed by West Ham’s attacking strengths. But he has delivered a scathing assessment of Moyes, predicting a 4-2 win for Tottenham at the London Stadium.

“I can’t be trusting West Ham,” Jones says.

“They looked home and hosed on Saturday, where we had tipped them for the win, but thanks to David Moyes and his dinosaur football tactics, they sank deeper and deeper before sinking without a trace.

“Tottenham can take a game away from a team very quickly by scoring multiple goals in a short period and West Ham do have a habit of collapsing -like they did at Fulham, like they did at Arsenal. That may happen here if Spurs sense blood.

Hammers attack impresses Sky Sports man but Moyes does not

“However, I think there’s a good chance of the Hammers scoring multiple goals, too. Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio are purring right now.

“Since Paqueta returned from injury, they’ve scored 18 goals in seven matches. They carry such a threat on the break and the Brazilian is the man that knits all their attacks together.”

Moyes has held his hands up and admitted his tactics at Newcastle massively backfired. But he also blasted his ‘weak’ stars over the collapse.

Gary Neville has delivered his verdict on Moyes’ future at West Ham and says it reminds him of the situation at Spurs in recent years before Postecoglou’s arrival.
