‘Exciting’ Chelsea player spotted back in training after injury problems ahead of Manchester United match

One key Chelsea player has now been seen taking part in some sort of training again ahead of the Blues’ return to Premier League action.

Pictures on the 5 Stand App show the player in question working in the gym just two days before they take on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino will be looking for a reaction after the embarrassment that came from their 2-2 draw against 10-man Burnley side.

Gusto injured against Burnley

Of all the negatives that occurred on Saturday, one of the big ones happened with just a few minutes to go.

Malo Gusto was forced off in the final moments due to injury, leaving many really concerned that they would be without a recognised option in that role for the foreseeable future.

The Frenchman has proven to be an extremely competent right-back in recent weeks, impressing pundits along the way.

Glen Johnson described him as ‘exciting’, and the fact that the Blues have not missed club captain Reece James too much during his absence has been a credit to his quality.

There will have been fears he could have been set for an extended period of time. However, the fact he has been spotted in the gym is a real boost to the club’s prospects.

It still remains to be seen whether the upcoming fixture against United will be too soon for him, and if it is Pochettino will be forced to rethink his tactics.

It is likely that Axel Disasi makes the move out to the right of defence, leaving a spot open at the back for Thiago Silva to make his long-awaited return to the squad.

They will of course lose a large amount of their attacking threat down that side, leaving a lot of the pressure on Cole Palmer to create down that side on Thursday night.
