Micah Richards has heaped praise on a Manchester United player who he thinks has been better than Chelsea’s Cole Palmer this season.
The Red Devils and the Blues have both had disappointing campaigns – one more than the other.
Manchester United are currently sixth in the Premier League table, while Chelsea, who have been much worse, are 12th, having won just 11 of their first 28 games.
However, both sides have certain positives to take from this season. Palmer is definitely someone Chelsea will be proud of for his outstanding performances.

Chelsea signed Cole Palmer from Manchester City last summer in a move that surprised many people.
The 21-year-old has always been an incredible talent. Pep Guardiola knew just how good he was and Palmer even scored a stunner in the Community Shield last summer to further prove his class.
However, when the Englishman asked to leave Manchester City, the champions obliged, and Chelsea snapped him up in the summer.
That has proved to be the Blues’ best decision yet under Todd Boehly. Palmer has 16 goals and 12 assists to his name in all competitions this season, which is a tremendous return. He has also broken a Chelsea record.
As Micah Richards would say, Palmer has definitely ‘burst onto the scene’, but the pundit has now suggested that Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo has had a better campaign.
When asked to name a player who has ‘burst onto the scene’ this season, Richards said on the Rest is Football podcast: “We have to go with Mainoo, don’t we?”
Gary Lineker quickly claimed he would add Palmer to the list too, but Richards believes Mainoo deserves to be above him.
He said: “But Cole Palmer, we sort of knew how good he was, maybe not to this level. Remember we saw him in the FA Cup was it last season? Or was it pre-season? We were like wow, this guy is really tasty! Community Shield, yes it was.
“But Mainoo has had a lot of praise within Man United for a long, long time. If you watch MUTV, they’ve been singing his praises for a while.
“But, in terms of coming into a team which is a little bit disjointed and being able to take that responsibility at such a young age and making his England debut as well, I just think, yeah, Mainoo!”

It’s always difficult for a teenager to perform at the highest level when he’s thrown in the Premier League. Not many can do it, but Mainoo has impressed everyone.
Even Jude Bellingham, who is arguably the best young midfielder in the world right now, has noticed Mainoo’s incredible talent, and he has predicted that the youngster will have a huge future at Manchester United.
Bellingham said last month: “He was good. It’s difficult, I’m speaking like the old head here but I know how hard it can be when there’s pressure on you and there’s a clamour so I don’t want to add fuel to the fire.
“But he’s definitely a brilliant player and he’s going to have an amazing future at Man United and hopefully for England as well.”
