‘He should be a marathon runner’: Pundit says £60m Liverpool player is so fit it’s unreal

Liverpool are one of the fittest squads in the Premier League.

To play Jurgen Klopp’s brand of heavy metal football you have to be in incredible shape, and the Reds have some of the fittest players in all of English football in their squad right now.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Wataru Endo all seem to have unlimited stamina.

Speaking on the Optus Sport Football Podcast, Michael Bridges has highlighted another Liverpool player who seems to have an incredible engine, claiming that he should be a marathon runner.

The Liverpool player who has unlimited energy

Bridges spoke about Dominik Szoboszlai in glowing terms, claiming that the Hungarian is a machine and he should be a marathon runner considering just how fit he is.

“We talk about superstars and the player who have signed, Szoboszlai is another one, he’s just a machine, he just doesn’t stop running, he should be a marathon runner,” Bridges said.

Dominik Szoboszlai is incredibly fit

Dominik Szoboszlai looks like he can run all day on the pitch, and, by the sounds of it, he’s also a machine behind the scenes at Kirkby too.

Indeed, reports over pre-season suggested that Szoboszlai absolutely dominated the fitness drills at Anfield over the summer.

Neil Jones reported at the time just how impressive Szoboszlai’s fitness scores were.

“Dominik Szoboszlai looks like he can run for days. “Bro, 20.2?!” marvelled Alexander-Arnold after the Hungarian had seen off Luis Díaz and Cody Gakpo in his first fitness challenge on Merseyside. 20.2 is, I’m told, a serious score for a lactate test. In Szoboszlai, Liverpool look like they’ve bought a hell of an athlete, as well as a supremely-talented footballer,” Jones noted at the time.

Szoboszlai has an incredible engine, and while being a footballer and being a long-distance runner require two very different skill sets, we’d back the Hungarian to make the crossover if he had to.

The £60m man is certainly one of the fittest players in the world.
