Jurgen Klopp says ‘incredible’ player people ‘forgot’ will return to Liverpool training soon

According to Jurgen Klopp there is an ‘incredible’ Liverpool player who is set to return to first team training soon.

Things are looking bright for Liverpool at the moment. The Reds are sitting top of the Premier League, and players are returning from injury left, right and centre.

Jurgen Klopp revealed in his press conference ahead of Sheffield United tomorrow that Curtis Jones will be back in contention after training with the first team this week.

There were also positive updates about Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota, who could both also be back in action soon.

But there was an even more exciting update given by Klopp about a player who has not been in action for a while, who is now set to return to first team training very shortly as well.

Jurgen Klopp on the latest updates about Stefan Bajcetic

Stefan Bajcetic has been out of action for a long time now. The last time he featured for Liverpool was against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup all the way back in September.

Over the last year or so the really highly rated youngster, who was once described as ‘incredible’ by Klopp has started just one game for Liverpool.

But there was good news about Bajcetic in the press conference today. Klopp confirmed that the Spanish U21 international has been training with Liverpool’s U21 side this week to ease him back into full fitness.

The Liverpool manager also revealed that he now expects Bajcetic to train with the first team starting from next week.

“We forgot Stefan Bajcetic,” Klopp said as per the club’s official YouTube Channel.

“Yes, he didn’t play for a long time but he trained now fully with the U21s this week. That means we will take him in training next week, and we will see. So another one coming. That’s super important.”

What happened to Stefan Bajcetic?

Bajcetic has been side-lined with injuries linked to his growth, which has meant Liverpool have been very careful in easing him back into action.

Instead, the youngster has been spending a lot of time in the gym, building his core muscles to help him deal better with physical impacts in the adult game.

This is something a lot of young players have gone through during their teenage years. Molde FK didn’t allow Erling Haaland to play football for close to a year, and trained him in the gym when he went through his growth spurt.

The same happened with Steven Gerrard at Liverpool, or more recently, the highly rated Kaide Gordon.

But as Klopp has said, Liverpool will not have forgotten about Bajcetic. He is still one of the most exciting young talents at the club.
