'I really do': Joe Cole predicts where Tottenham will finish in the Premier League this season

Joe Cole has predicted where Tottenham Hotspur will finish in the Premier League following their draw at West Ham United last night.

Tottenham missed an opportunity to move above Aston Villa into fourth place after being held to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday evening.

Ange Postecoglou’s side came flying out the blocks as Brennan Johnson opened the scoring inside five minutes.

The north Londoners looked set to add a second and press home their early advantage. But Kurt Zouma’s effort from a corner proved to be enough to earn West Ham a point, leaving Spurs in fifth place ahead of Aston Villa’s trip to Manchester City tonight.

Former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has already backed his old side to finish above Villa and secure fourth place.

Now, Joe Cole has delivered his verdict on the race for the top four and has shared where he thinks Spurs will finish.

Cole predicts where Tottenham will finish

Speaking to TNT Sports after last night’s 1-1 draw at West Ham, Cole backed Tottenham to pip Villa to fourth place.

“I think they could nick fourth,” the former Chelsea man said. “Tottenham were the surprise package for me at the start of the season, we knew about Ange with his Celtic team and we wondered whether they had the capabilities but I think the signings have been fabulous, Porro, Van De Ven, Udogie, Maddison.

“I think they had a little blip but I think they can hunt down Villa, I really do.

“Don’t underestimate that Villa’s campaign in Europe will take something away from them. Lille are a good side and they will push Villa.”

Tottenham in talks with investors

While Postecoglou continues to fight for a place in the top four this season, it would appear there is plenty going on behind the scenes at Tottenham.

Spurs announced their results for the 2023/23 financial year today and chairman Daniel Levy admitted the club is looking for potential investors.

In the statement, Levy revealed “the board and its advisors, Rothschild & Co, are in discussions with prospective investors”.

The improvements on the pitch under Postecoglou have been evident this term and following today’s statement, this should offer Spurs fans encouragement moving forward.
