Chelsea have the chance to do something against Manchester United that they haven't done in over two years

Chelsea are preparing to return to Premier League action with another game at Stamford Bridge tonight.

After the embarrasing draw against Burnley at the weekend, the Blues have the chance to bounce back and finally climb up towards the European places with the visit of Manchester United.

They will be reunited with a familiar face in West London, with it set to be the first time Mason Mount has faced Chelsea since his departure over the summer.

Mount still hurt by Chelsea exit

The England international moving on was something many supporters simply could not imagine, with it being believed he was groomed to be the poster boy at the club for years to come.

However, he was moved on and the Blues look forward to facing his new side tonight, desperate for the points in an effort to climb up the table.

However, supporters will be well aware that it has been quite a while since they beat the Red Devils, and in fact it has been a seriously long time since they picked up a win against a traditional top six side in the Premier League at home.

Chelsea without a ‘big six’ home win since 2022

In fact, according to CFCDaily on Twitter, you have to go back to January 2022 for the last time they achieved this feat, when they beat Tottenham 2-0 thanks to goals from Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva.

Results are beginning to become imperative forMauricio Pochettino, who is under severe pressure already in his role at Stamford Bridge.

The Argentine has failed to connect with large sections of the fanbase, who have not been shy to show their distain for the current situation during games.

The atmosphere could turn toxic quickly tonight if things are not going the Blues’ way, and a lot of eyes will be on Cole Palmer to make something happen to try and break their duck playing big sides at home.
