TV star who almost ate herself 'to death' drops 171lbs to help family

When My 600-lb Life star Rose Perrine first entered Dr. Now’s weight loss clinic, she was instructed to lose 400lbs if she wanted to get healthy. Determined to drop weight, Rose turned her life around.

At age 58, Rose had almost given up and eaten herself to death, but it turned out her family needed her too much for her to go. The My 600-lb Life star then switched it up, dieting for several, difficult months.

Rose on My 600-lb life

My 600-lb Life star Rose Perrine had reached 546lbs, but could not go to bed without help from her fiancé, Russell. Her main motivation to lose weight is so she can go out trucking with him.

Her son claims that, when Russell came into her life, she became happier and less depressed. However, Rose started getting addicted to food again when her partner went back on the road.

She knows her “time with family could get cut short” if her health issues continue. As a result of her weight, Rose’s partner is concerned her knees will no longer hold the pounds.

Her weight loss journey

Rose’s heartbeat was irregular, meaning she was equipped with an oxygen tank at night, and while she could stand and walk, she used a motorized wheelchair to get around.

Her daughter-in-law, Samantha “Sam” Kingston, who she shared a bedroom with, had to help her with many activities, including bathing and making her food.

With a goal to lose weight so she could at least see her 11 grandchildren reach school, Rose stuck to her strict diet and even started working out at home with her family.

Where Rose is after filming

Rose was so determined that, after just a few months, she shed a whopping 171lbs and was approved for weight loss surgery by Dr Now. She continues to live in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The TLC star sells jewellery on an online Facebook shop and remains engaged to Russell. She’s quickly become a firm fan favorite for her drive and willingness to follow the doctor’s instructions.
