‘Love you brother’: James Maddison sends message to £22m Tottenham player after West Ham game

James Maddison has sent a message to one Tottenham Hotspur player following the draw at West Ham United.

Tottenham dropped points at the London Stadium on Tuesday evening after enjoying a bright start to the game.

Brennan Johnson’s effort in the fifth minute got Spurs off to a flyer and they looked set to build on a positive start.

But Kurt Zouma’s effort from a corner got West Ham back on level terms and Ange Postecoglou’s side struggled to create clear-cut opportunities thereafter.

A couple of half chances fell to Heung-min Son, who would have been eager to mark his 400th game for Tottenham with a goal.

That didn’t quite materialise for the South Korean, with David Moyes admitting after the game he was pleased with how his side dealt with the Spurs skipper.

Yet, after reaching an impressive landmark for the club, James Maddison has admitted it was a ‘pleasure’ to share the pitch with Son on Tuesday evening.

Heung-min Son’s Premier League stats

In his 400 appearances for Spurs, Son has racked up a total of 160 goals and 82 assists.

The £22 million man has managed 118 goals and 60 assists in 295 Premier League games.

At 31, Son is showing no signs of slowing down as he continues to provide in the final third. He’s netted 15 times and provided eight assists in 27 league games this season.

Ben Davies has already claimed that Son’s impressive goalscoring numbers have ‘gone under the radar’.

He has consistently produced year after year for Spurs and looks set to continue playing a key role in the Postecoglou project.
